Have you ever wondered what the Design Process is like?
Phone Interview
This is our first contact. This phone call is like an initial interview for both of us! This is the time to ask us any questions you have. We both need to feel comfortable with person we will be working with. We will ask you basic information about yourself and your project.
Design Consultation/Site Visit
This is where the process will all begin. We will discuss the scope of the project, your goals, budget. We will review a questionnaire filled out by you which will go more in depth on your likes, ideas, lifestyle, etc. This gives us a chance to walk the space if needed. All parties involved in the decision making should be present.
Client Engagement Letter Review
Once we have the full scope of the project, we will draw up a client engagement letter that states the scope of work & the fees we discussed. We will meet to review the letter & confirm the scope of work. Once an agreement has been made I will measure the space & we will set up our next meeting for the Design Presentation.
Design Presentation
At this meeting we will review the floor plans, conceptual design ideas & finish selections. If modifications need to be made we will get to work on that and schedule our next meeting. We want to ensure you are happy with the end result & that the space speaks TO you and OF you! If you are happy with what has been presented, then we will discuss the steps in moving forward with completion of the design.

Other Frequently Asked Questions:
What is your design style?
My love for design extends beyond my personal preferences or design style. Through school and exposure in the industry you learn about various designers & historical and current styles. You are also constantly learning about new trends & finish materials. This is what I love about design, it is always changing & evolving. This makes it easy for me to appreciate any good design. My goal is to bring an element of my client into the space, but do it in a way where it is functional, beautiful and full of their personality.
How do Interior Designers charge for their professional design time?
The three most common ways Designers charge are Hourly, Fixed Fee & Cost Plus. Hourly is just as it sounds, the designer has a set fee for each hour spent on designing your space. Fixed fee is an agreed upon amount that a designer charges to complete the project. Cost plus is the overall cost of the project plus a certain percentage that covers the design fees. As all projects are unique it is best to discuss your project with us to determine the best way to structure the design fees.
How do I prepare for my Design Consultation?
Two of the best ways to prepare for the your initial meeting with a designer will be to gather inspiration & determine your investment. Inspiration images can be from anything you love, they don't have to just be from an Interior! Art, travel, nature, fashion... there are a number of things that could really inspire you. Determining your investment is best to do prior to meeting with a designer. Knowing what we have to work with prior to the designer beginning work will save time and frustration on both ends. You don't want a designer to unknowingly select fabrics that may be out of budget to end up falling in love with them and having to re select. If this is something you need assistance with, just say so!
